Jt Director of Engineering, Air HQ (VB), New Delhi
Team size: 50 ( HAL and IAF)
Activities
-Plan and budget financial aspect and scope of work (SOW) by IAF/HAL/Vendor based on the high level requirements.
-Preparation of RFP for feasibility study.
-After persistent follow up, obtained approval of MoD and issued limited RFP for the project for a cost of INR 4 Cr.
-The matrix for requirements were mapped with the proposals forwarded by HAL/ M/s Rolls Royce / M/s Honeywell. Each aspect was deliberated and concluded.
-The engine aspects/ components were analyzed in detail.
-I have planned and implemented a new format of analyzing process that enhanced the speed of the process. My team was able to finish the analyzing process two months ahead of the schedule. This affected the decision to be taken for the trials and positioning of resources.
-Feasibility report prepared and submitted well ahead of timeline.
-The team could start preparation of the prototype that help the trial implementation on the test bed.
-Regular discussions with the vendors and HAL during execution of the project to keep the cost and schedule within the budget.
-The prototype modification was checked and trials were carried out on test bed.
-The project included integration of the digital indications in cockpit, introduction of digital TGT amplifier and cyclic counter. These were electrical and instrumentation items decided post trials to be included in the scope of work.
Value Adds
-Completed the Feasibility report 2 months before the scheduled date.
-Completed the trial testing, preparation of project report and cost verification of parts being deployed for the upgrade 4 months ahead of the schedule that saves the project cost by INR 600 Cr (INR 2 cr per engine)
